SS Alternative Ending Essay

Hi Guys,

In Social Studies we wrote an alternative ending essay about ‘The Picture Bride’. So I hope you enjoy!

It’s was that time of the year again and it was time to burn the sugar canes. Kana said, “Where is Kei?”. Kana ran into the fire looking for her baby. They yelled “Kana? Kana? ” and tried to find her, but it was too late. Kana and her baby Kei already got burned by the fire. Everyone was devastated, especially Riyo because she was her only friend in Hawaii.

Later that night, Riyo thought she heard Kana singing to Kei. Riyo thought to herself “Is that Kana?”. She searched the spot where they usually are in, but they weren’t there. Riyo figured out that the singing was the spirits like Kana told her about when she first got to Hawaii. It was like Kana was saying ‘Hi’ to Riyo.

The next day, Riyo got up early to run away from Matsuji. She took her money and all her belongings. Riyo ran through the long cane fields and all the way to the beach. She was going to catch a boat to Japan because she despised Matsuji after he lied to her about his age. She caught a boat back to Yokohama and tried to find her home and her aunt.

When she found her home she was excited to be back and spend time with her aunt. She was planning to move to a new area where no one knew her and to start over again. When her aunt saw her she was surprised. “Riyo?” she said, “Why are you  back in Japan?”. “I moved back to spend time with you and marry someone else here.”

The man that I married in Hawaii lied about his age,” said Riyo. “How old is he?” the aunt asked.  “40 something,” Riyo said. “What?” her aunt screamed “that’s almost twice your age”. Kiyo nodded in agreement. Then she went to bed planning on marrying someone in a different area of Japan.

The next day she went to the offices in Japan and tried to be a picture bride again, but refused to go back to Hawaii.  She met a man that was caring and actually cared about Riyo. They eventually met up and got married. She forgot  all about Matsuji. They lived the rest of their life happily.

Best Science Work

Hi guys,

I am sharing with you guys a Moli (bird) Bolus report that we wrote in science from our field trip. Enjoy!

What does an Albatross bolus reveal about them it’s diet? In the bolus,  I found a lot of plastic pieces, squid beaks, and fishing lines. The teacher was Mr. Evan and for my partner I had was Ava from 8th grade. We found a lot of things that I wouldn’t think Moli would eat their diet. There was a lot of brown stuff in there that I didn’t know what it was.

My hypothesis was there was going to be plastic caps and pieces. Also, there was a lot of shiny plastic wrappers because they like shiny stuff. It was grosser than I thought. I also thought there was going to be styrofoam and just a lot of litter in the bolus.

The first direction he told us to do what find a partner and sit across of them. Then, he told us to open the paper to reveal the bolus so we can sort it. The smell went from a cinnamon cookie smell to a stinky smell. Then he told us to take turns sorting natural and man-made items into two separate piles. Then after we sorted most of it and washed our hands and talked about what we found.

I found a lot of plastic items in the Moli bolus. There was a lot of fishing lines and glass also. The natural was the brown dirt and squid beaks. Something’s in the Moli I didn’t really know what it was. One group found a rock shaped item in their bolus. Another group found candy wrappers but, all of us found squid beaks.

I was mostly right on what we found like plastic pieces, shiny wrapper, and glass. I was surprised to see squid beaks and brown stuff in the bolus. Almost every group had fishing line and squid beaks in their bolus. But, everyone had some different thing in our bolus.

Now I know when I go to the beaches, parks, and ETC I know to pick up litter even though it isn’t mine. So, I can help protect the Moli and help the eat less trash. Also, we learned every single piece of trash matters. Also, I did it during the summertime when there was a bag floating in the water I picked it up and threw it away. Also, people just watch the bag float into the ocean when it’s like 2 inches away from them.

Bye!

Best Work in Language Arts

Hi Guys,

I’m going to insert an essay I wrote about Flip phones based on a scope magazine article. So here it is. Hope you enjoy

What would you do if you shattered your phone? Would you get a flip phone? There are many advantages to having a smartphone. Also advantages to having a flip phone. They both have disadvantages to them. There is a lot of reason to not get a flip phone.

I would never get a flip phone, I’d rather have a Smartphone. It’s because you can’t read the news on a flip phone, but you can on a smartphone. You can get notifications on your phone on Hurricanes, Tornado, and Tsunami. You can barely see the very tiny screen on the flip phone but a smartphone is 4 times bigger than the flip phone. So, it’s easier to see on a smartphone.

f you like taking pictures smartphones are the way to go. Smartphones take way more high quality than a smartphone can take. A smartphone can zoom in if you cant see something. On the other hand, flip phones cannot zoom in on picture or articles. Also like I said earlier you can barely see the screen

A lot of high schools students are using their smartphones to take pictures of assignments which they can share it with friends, print it, or just look at it on their phone. Also, they take pictures of notes just in case they missed some or they send it to their friend that is sick or on a trip. Some kids ask their teacher if they can record them when they have lecture halls and they record while taking note then if they need it they can look back.

Smartphones have better qualities than a flip phone.Smartphones have a flashlight but a flip phone doesn’t. Smartphones have a recorder but a flip phone doesn’t have one. The picture on smartphones is much better than a flip phone picture.
